Scott Brown: Bhoys did their talking on the pitch

SCOTT Brown was delighted at having captained Celtic to another Glasgow derby win. The Hoops skipper was outstanding inthe middle of the park as Brendan Rodgers' side beat Rangers 1-0 thanks to an Olivier Ntcham goal.

And though the scoreline might have been a narrow one, the gulf between the sides was plain for all to see. Speaking after the game, Brown said he and his team-mates never doubted their ability to win the game, and were confident of putting their case across on the pitch.

“There’s always a big build-up but we didn’t pay any attention to it,” said the Celtic captain. “We came here and knew what we had to do in front of 60,000 Celtic fans and we did it. We did our talking on the park yet again and we dictated play for 90 minutes. I think they had one shot on target the whole game.

“It’s all about us and about how well we’ve played. Everyone’s been trying to knock us down the last couple of weeks but we’re a great team and a great spirit in that dressing room no matter what anyone else says.

“We know once we turn up, we’ve got quality all over the park and we believe we can beat anyone, especially at Celtic Park. We’ve been to Ibrox and beat them and we’ve beat them at Celtic Park.”

Celtic dominated the game and were unlucky not to have scored more denied by the woodwork and some good saves from Rangers goalkeeper, Allan McGregor. It was Olivier Ntcham who broke the deadlock with his second half goal which came courtesy an excellent James Forrest assist.

"Olivier's been exceptional," said Scott Brown. "The way he creates chances, his vision and his finishing. He was unlucky not to score another goal but Allan McGregor made a great save and hit the bar yet again.

“He’s top quality and he always believes in his own ability. He believes he can create chances and score goals and, yet again, he’s did that in this game.

“They sat off and tried to make it hard for us but eventually we got the chance and managed to take it. That’s what a good team does. We keep the ball and we’re very, very patient so we wait for our chance.”
